PALMITOYL TRIPEPTIDE-38

Palmitoyltripeptide-38 is a synthetic peptide which consists of the amino acids lysine, methionine and lysil and is bound to palmitic acid. Palmitoyltripeptide-38 is part of the complex used called Volulip™. In in vivo studies conducted by the manufacturer, twice-daily application of a product containing 1% Volulip™ resulted in a visible improvement in the appearance of the lips (smoothness, curvature, surface and volume), moisture and youthfulness (more beautiful contour and plumping effect) in at least 69% of the test subjects. (2) It belongs to the "matrikine mimetic compounds", which play a key role in the synthesis of elastin and collagen. It can also stimulate cell proliferation. Palmitic acid as a component also has an antioxidant effect. It is recommended for use in cosmetic products and has been classified as safe in a safety assessment for cosmetic ingredients. (1)
