Our lips do not have classic sweat and sebaceous glands, only Fordyce glands, which are also known as free sebaceous glands. However, Fordyce glands are present in very small numbers compared to the sebaceous glands in other areas of the body. Therefore, the amount of sebum produced in this area is also correspondingly lower.
Accordingly, the lips are particularly affected by environmental stimuli such as cold and dry air, so they tend to dry out more quickly. Ceramides reduce transepidermal water loss and strengthen the skin barrier of the lips. This is of crucial importance as the horny layer and therefore also the skin barrier of the lips is less pronounced compared to the rest of the face. For these reasons, it is all the more important to promote the development and strengthening of the skin barrier through the use of ceramides.

If you would like to apply the products together, we recommend applying the Better Balm first and allowing it to absorb well. You can then use the Perfect Plump for the plumping effect and finish with the Hypnotic Hues for SPF and color.
