Our lips do not have classic sweat and sebaceous glands, only Fordyce glands, which are also known as free sebaceous glands. However, Fordyce glands are present in very small numbers compared to the sebaceous glands in other areas of the body. Therefore, the amount of sebum produced in this area is also correspondingly lower.
Accordingly, the lips are particularly affected by environmental stimuli such as cold and dry air, so they tend to dry out more quickly. Ceramides reduce transepidermal water loss and strengthen the skin barrier of the lips. This is of crucial importance as the horny layer and therefore also the skin barrier of the lips is less pronounced compared to the rest of the face. For these reasons, it is all the more important to promote the development and strengthening of the skin barrier through the use of ceramides.
They ensure that lips are kept supple and soft and are better moisturized.
The effect usually occurs after a few seconds to minutes and lasts for several hours. The maximum effect is reached after about 10 minutes.
For our Hypnotic Hues, we have deliberately chosen a delicate Rosewood shade that achieves an appealing result on numerous skin types and lip colors. The effect of the shade can vary depending on the individual lip color.
The lip products can be used independently of a routine as required. The individual functions of the products, such as the sun protection of Hypnotic Hues, the repairing effect of Better Balm and the plumping effect of Perfect Plump, should be used according to the desired effect. If you would like to apply the products together, we recommend applying the Better Balm first and allowing it to absorb well. You can then use the Perfect Plump for the plumping effect and finish with the Hypnotic Hues for SPF and color.
There are no fixed rules - you can also combine just two products. For example, if you find the Perfect Plump too intense, you can apply the Better Balm or Hypnotic Hues underneath to soften the circulation-boosting effect.
