2,3-BUTANEDIOL

2,3-Butanediol is a dihydric alcohol (diol) with moisturizing and stabilizing properties. In skin care, it is used as a versatile excipient - among other things to bind moisture, improve texture and as a dispersing agent for poorly soluble active ingredients. In addition, 2,3-butanediol can help to promote the penetration of other active ingredients into the skin and support the effect of preservatives.(1)
